Filling Brisbane QLD

Smile Central use the most advanced restorative resin systems to reduce stress on the teeth and restore dental function.

If you have suffered from broken down or decayed teeth, restorative dentistry will protect and improve your dental aesthetics and function.

Fillings

With the advancement in dental technology, there are many other alternatives to traditional metal amalgam to treat dental decay and cavities. The team at Smile Central are passionate about providing you with the dental care you deserve and a healthy smile; therefore, we treat fillings with a tooth-coloured resin material that hardens when applied with a light creating a seamless restoration. These fillings have the properties which replicate tooth enamel and a substance that is relatively translucent.

Inlays and Onlays

If you require more than a traditional filling, inlays and onlays constructed with porcelain offer protection for heavily broken down or decayed teeth.

Using a mould of your teeth, our specialist ceramist carefully fabricates porcelain inlays and onlays following our detailed instructions. This process ensures the most accurate and restored finish for full dental function.

Inlays and onlays are a long-lasting restoration treatment, custom-made and cemented to the site of breakage or decay. This form of restorative dentistry will strengthen your tooth structure and minimise the risk of further dental complications.

What’s the difference between inlays and onlays?

An inlay restores significant mass in the centre (crevice) of your teeth. An onlay can restore this part of your teeth as well as a cusp (or peak) of the tooth. If you have severe decay in the centre of your tooth then an inlay may be recommended, while if you have chipped and damaged a cusp or more of your teeth then you will most likely need an onlay. Severe damage may warrant the placement of a crown.
